Why won’t my 4th gen ipod nano charge using certain docking stations?
I have a 4th gen ipod nano 16 gig. I used a JBL OnStage II it charges my old ipod but will not charge the nano. It says "Charging is not supported with this accessory" on the ipod. Is there a software update or anything I can do to charge this? I also tried charging on a Altec Lansing dock with the same results.

It’s happened to me too.
As far as I can tell, Apple changed something with the charging system, so you’ll need a newer docking system or cable.
If you notice on the new dock chargers apple has cleverly changed the pins that connect to your newer iPod so the old ones wont work because the charging pins are in the wrong spots.
The newer iPods also have the receiver docks in the new locations so the old cables don’t work.
They do this so you buy more of the newer products/chargers.
Sorry, all you can do is get a new cord/charger.
