I have never had a proeblem with my ipod in car before. however today i have plugged in th ipod and tried to play it will only play 1 playlist. It will not let me control the ipod – all the touch things/wheel, buttons etc freeze and it says ‘car linked’ which it has never said before, until i unplug it. Then i have reset all items such as shuffle and repeat, but the minute i plug onto the car, it reverts to repeat and plays this one playlist and wont let me control it. its not the ipod, cos i have plugged it in my docking station at home and can play whatever i want – only the car is playing up. please help, i paid a fortune to have this able to play through my car and am tearing my hair out…..

I had an iPod car adapter installed in my car about 2 years ago because I was sick of the Fm transmitters. However, once it’s plugged in, there is no way to control the songs through the iPod. It’s just on perma-shuffle. None of the controls on the iPod work, and I have to shuffle using mycars CD controls. It did this for my last nano, and now the new one. Anyone know how to make it so you can choose what you want to listen to?
I have over 2000 songs on it. I know all about making a playlist and whatnot. But more of what I’m looking for is situation. You know, when you wanna hear that ONE song, and you want to find it.
So I guess I mean, outside of making a playlist, does anyone know a way to fix it so you can control songs from your iPod, in your car?

Basically, I created a smart playlist with my top rated songs, dragged it onto my iPod. Is there anyway that new songs for that playlist in itunes make their way onto my iPod automatically? If anyone’s wondering, I have a new iPod Touch, and I’m using a smart playlist if that makes a difference.

I currently have a classic iPod that I hook up to my head unit’s aux input. It’s very easy to operate while driving. For example, I can skip ahead/back in a playlist or change volume, without even looking at the iPod.

Is the iPod Touch a lot harder to use while driving? Why or why not?

Thanks!

i said YES to all of these!!

I just got a new ipod and i tried to transfer my songs to my new ipod from my old ipod. But all of my songs didnt get transfered. I dont understand why, and how to get all of them on my new ipod. Also is it possible to get my songs from my ipod to a new playlist?

My iTunes library is all wrong. It won’t display my iPod songs on my laptop. So, in order to listen to my iPod songs, I have to plug my iPod in, and listen to my iPod’s library. But once I disconnect the USB cord, the library goes back to the stupid original songs that I don’t want. It’s very confusing, and it’s frustrating me. I try to drag the iPod songs into the existing iTunes library [You know, like when you're creating a playlist] and it won’t let me. On my mom’s computer though, iTunes cooperates and uploads and updates songs normally. But she had to wipe her hard drive clean because of a virus, so the songs don’t exist anymore.

PLEASE help me. This is very frustrating. I hope you understand it well enough to help me. Thanks.
