I am 16 so I DON’T have money to blow on something more than like USD more or less. Haha I don’t have an iPod dock, headphone thingy, or a cassette player. I tried plugging in though the cigarette lighter and that didn’t work so I just have the radio and a CD player. And my laptop isn’t compatible with my portable CD drive thingy so I can’t burn CD’s. Life is great… :b It’s a waste to burn that many CD’s anyways because I’m a big music person and I’d have about 50 CD’s by the time I’m done burning just the essential favourites…
My car is a 2006 Mini Cooper so if you have/have had one and there is a headphone jack that I don’t know about, please let me know. I’ve checked thoroughly though and I don’t think there is one…
And yes, I know I’m VERY lucky to have a Mini as my first car!!! I treat it like I would treat a baby. Hahaha

I have an iPhone 3G and and iPod Video (5G)
I’m going away on vacation for 2 months, and I’m not allowed to take my laptop or iPod dock station. I’m going to take my iPhone charger so I was wondering if it’ll charge my iPod.
I already tried syncing my iPod with the iPhone USB cable and it worked so I just need to know if the charger part will work as well.

        Thank You!!

          I have a iPhone 2g 8GB and have had a problem with it….

I was on a night out and my iPhone was in my pocket and became really really hot. It then ran out of battery.

When I connected the iPhone to my Mac it didn’t recognise the device.

I then tried my friends PC and the same problem.

When I connected it to the wall charger it again didn’t charge the handset.

I reset my iPhone and connected the charger to the handset.

It then came up with the battery icon and a red bar and said it was charging.

After a while it changed to the iTunes logo and USB logo, meaning it needed to be connected to iTunes and reset.

But when I connected the iPhone to my Mac it once again didn’t recognise the iPhone.

Does anyone know what the problem is here and how I can go about fixing it. Is it my dock connector on my iPhone or is it something more serious like the CPU? Is there a way of forcing the iPhone to connect to a computer? It is out of warranty so I am looking for the cheapest option availible.

Please guys and gals help me. I can’t function without my iPhone!

          Thanks.
I have Auto lock enabled so that wasn’t the problem. And it’s not the charger as it doesn’t connect to my laptop either. After charging it with a firewire charger (old iPod) it has come to life, but however the home button is not working, the speaker (mp3) is distorted and it still doesn’t connect to my laptop.

I turn on the camera while it’s connected, Sony Vegas does not say there is an active video source and the camera does not have the DV-in symbol on it’s display.

I’ve checked the bios and my windows vista control panel says the 1394 bus is working fine.

Perhaps there is a setting on my camera that is not correct? Or maybe there’s a setting on my computer that could be wrong?

I am currently using the Sony Handycam dock to connect the camera to my laptop.

I bought the full version of iPhoneRingtoneMaker, and it worked fine (well sometimes ringtones go missing randomly…) until today, when it suddenly got the "no iPhone connection found, please make sure your iPhone is docked" error. The only changes I made were I upgraded iTunes to the newest version today, and I backed up my iPhone in iTunes. Other than that I didn’t do anything with the iPhone. iTunes as well as my laptop would recognize that my iPhone is connected, however the program stubbornly says "no connection found" each time I want to send over a ringtone, it’s getting really frustrating. Does anyone know of a solution to this?
              Thanks.

I have found it to be the biggest inconvenience for me to transfer all my music from my laptop to my computer because I am using Itunes. I have an older Ipod and was planning on getting a new one soon and was wondering if other MP3 players, such as the Zune were just as difficult as the Ipod. I like the Itunes store, but do not use any Ipod accessories.

I just bought a Sony Vaio VGN FZ145E laptop from Best Buy. The sales guy told me there was a docking station available (there are only three USB ports on my computer) but that Best Buy did not have any at the time. He told me to check back. Well Best Buy still does not have any nor do any electronic or computer stores. I’ve searched on-line and called The Sony Style store. The Sony store only carries the latest models. I just bought the darn thing less than two months ago. I’ve tried E-bay and Amazon. I really need some more USB Ports. What should I do?

For about the same price, around 0, would an iPod dock or computer speakers get me a better sound?

I don’t need the features of the dock because I’m just as willing to plug my iPod into my laptop. So that feature aside which one is better?

Note: I’m just talking about listening to music.

Could you recommend any particular models?

We are looking for a laptop for our daughter. I have an older Vaio model R505GL which I have never had any performance issues with but… The battery life is poor & I can’t dock it to use my disc drive without unplugging it. Also, when unplugged, the screen is very dark. Are the new Vaios set up the same way?

I bought a Belkin cord to connect my ipod to the auxiliary jack in my car..the only problem is I can barely hear the bass and the music dies out under the sound of the engine! I have to turn most songs to the max volume of my car stereo, but it still feels like I’m listening to music on a laptop or old radio. I have pretty nice speakers in my car; and when I listen to the radio or cds the bass is solid and the volume of the music increases as my speed increases.

This is a hard thing to explain to the people at the Ipod or electronic stores..and I don’t think the cord is defective…and I don’t want to spend too much on those fm transmitters or devices that are profesionally installed in the vehicle.

Please help if you have any suggestions! This is just unsatisfying b/c I got an ipod so I wouldn’t have to keep so many cds in my car.
And, if you have any thoughts on a good and affordable Ipod dock/speakers that I can play my music out loud at home and charge my ipod with.

                thanks!

My laptop crashed, and it absolutely cannot turn on, plus it is the registered computer for my ipod. Luckily, I transferred most to my music to my new desk top. How can I re-register my ipod to my new computer and add all the music back on to my ipod?

Hi I have an iPod touch, and I recently got a new laptop. I have put all the music and films from my old computer onto my new laptop and imported it to iTunes. I want to use my laptop as the one I sync my iPod with, but it says it will erase everything on my iPod. I’m OK with it erasing my music and films, I can just put them back on, but will it erase my apps? If so how do I put them on my laptop?

                Thanks.

I have purchased applications on my Ipod. Then I bought a new laptop and downloaded new applications via itunes. When I plugged in my Ipod to sync it says that if I Sync it’ll erase all the applications already on my Ipod.

I don’t want to delete the applications I already have. What do I do?

I just bought a new laptop and I want to transfer my music from my ipod onto it. The problem is every tutorial I’ve found on how to do this hasn’t worked for me or my friends. It says go to my computer, show hidden files, and look for ipod control, but for some reason Ipod control never appears. Can someone helpo me out here.

PS: I have a first generation Ipod touch.
