Personally, I have an iPhone 3GS because I have T-Mobile. But my sister just asked me to sync some of my songs from my iTunes to her iPhone 4. After I was done, I played a song aloud just for fun. I noticed the sound wasn’t that loud, so I covered one speaker and put my ear to the other and noticed it doesn’t work. I’m talking about those two speakers on each side of the dock connector on the bottom of the iPhone. Then she showed her boyfriend this problem, and saw that the same speaker on his (the left speaker) doesn’t work. I personally found this pretty damn embarrassing, seeing that you need a case just to get reception if your left-handed. And now this. Anyone else having this problem?
"top contributor", those two grills on each side of the dock connector on the bottom, those are speakers. I don’t know if you have a Chinese tPhone or something with one speaker, but every new iPhone has two on the bottom? My 3GS plays music through both of the speakers on the bottom

Hello all,
Does anyone know if it is possible to upload your listening history (from your Ipod) of things you listened to prior to registering with Last.FM and downloading Scrobbler?
When I’m listening to songs via iTunes then it automatically adds it to my Last.FM page, but is there anyway I can have it to count the times I listen to songs just direct from my iPod. I mostly listen to my music either having my iPod hooked up to my car or by using my docking station at home so would need to be able to measure songs listened on my Ipod in this way.
Thanks
Cheers Matthew but that is what I’ve already done, it seems to transfer the history of what I’ve listened to via iTunes/my iPod while my iPod is connected to the computer but it has not transferred anything from when I listen to my iPod and it’s not connected to my PC. I must have listened to at least a few hundred hours worth of music on my iPod and that is clearly not visible on my Last.FM page.

Before we continue, I have updated my itunes and I have done the manual reset of the ipod by pushing the center button and the menu button at the same time. The ipod still functions and will play music through a sound dock that I have… but the dock will no longer charge the ipod. I (luckily) have an FM transmitter for my car that DOES charge it, so I can still use it. I also took it to a local retailer and docked it on several sound docks and some would charge it, some would not. Strange, eh? Anyway, if anyone has seen anything like this and has a tip to offer, I would greatly appreciate it.

GPS
Vibration (feedback from games, silent notification of updates)
Compass
FM radio transceiver (the iPod is after all an mp3 player, designed to offer music)
Auto-focus camera (preferably with zoom and higher resolution)
Stylus and handwriting recognition software (the old handheld devices like Palm had it)
Voice recognition software that doesnt strictly apply to the Music folder.
Adobe Flash animation player for the web browser.
I want to see multi-tasking abilities. Im tired of one app terminating just because I get a notice in another. I should be able to run social networking apps like Facebook without it automatically disconnecting every ten minutes without warning.
I want to see some obvious features that youd call trivial, what youd expect from pretty much any modern device – like a battery power "percent remaining" indicator. This indicator, by the way, already does exist within the iPod, but was removed deliberately by Apple – you have to jailbreak to activate it.
Inbuilt limitations is another thing Id like to see removed. The ability to install third-party apps that havent been "approved" by Apple.
The ability to delete Apples pre-installed junk apps
A Remote app that works, and wont constantly disconnect from my iTunes. A Remote app that wont spend ten minutes searching for the iTunes it was just connected to, to tell me finally that it doesnt exist.
External pocket-size folded keyboard to dock with the device, which can unfold out into a real keyboard. (old handheld devices like Palm had it)
A youtube video I watched spoke of photo editing software in the 4th gen that comes pre-installed. I have the 4th gen but I dont have photo editing software
What would you like to see in the next iPod Touch?

I bought the full version of iPhoneRingtoneMaker, and it worked fine (well sometimes ringtones go missing randomly…) until today, when it suddenly got the "no iPhone connection found, please make sure your iPhone is docked" error. The only changes I made were I upgraded iTunes to the newest version today, and I backed up my iPhone in iTunes. Other than that I didn’t do anything with the iPhone. iTunes as well as my laptop would recognize that my iPhone is connected, however the program stubbornly says "no connection found" each time I want to send over a ringtone, it’s getting really frustrating. Does anyone know of a solution to this?
Thanks.

I have a first generation iPhone. Yesterday, when I plugged it into my computer, it worked perfectly. It showed up on iTunes and iPhoto. When I got home this afternoon and plugged it into my computer, it doesn’t even show up. My phone doesn’t show it’s charging at all, and it doesn’t show up on either iTunes or iPhoto. I have an iPod dock and it charges when I put it on there though. Does anyone know what might be causing this and how to fix it?

I just bought a new docking cable for my iPhone. It charges just fine when connected to the power block, but there is no connection when I connect it via USB to my Mac computer. iTunes can’t find the phone for syncing or anything. What could be wrong?
The cable is Mac brand, specific to the iPhone, and the computer is an Apple as well.

Okay, I just activated my phone and another part of activating it is to connect it with the USB cable to the dock. I did that with the iTunes open (the latest version) and a pop-up came saying that I can’t use my iPhone because the Apple Mobile Device service isn’t started. What does that mean and how do I fix it? Please help

I just got a new mac, and with that i got a new ipod. So i hooked my new ipod up to my old itunes on my old computer and transfered all the songs onto it.
Now, i tried to plug my ipod into my mac, and it won’t transfer the song. It gives me the option to "transfer purchases" but it doesn’t do anything.
So how can i get this ipod synced with this new mac?

I have a new laptop after my other one broke. The only place for my music now is on my ipod as my old itunes is unavailable. When i downloaded itunes for my new laptop i tried to sync my ipod but was unable to as it was already synced to the itunes on my old laptop. I was wondering if there was anyway to get the music from my ipod to my new itunes without losing all of the music as my new itunes wants to erase my ipod.

I have a 4th generation Ipod Nano. I have very little music on it, however I listen to many podcasts. My boyfriend now has an Ipod Classic. He will download a lot of music and wants nothing to do with my podcasts. We already maintain separate user accounts on our PC, but somehow when he connects his iPod into iTunes it downloads all my podcasts. How on earth do we manage separate podcast libraries but share music?
Thanks in advance.

My iPod settings is set so that it automatically syncs with my iTunes. However, my old computer died so a lot of my music was lost. I want to switch my iPod settings to the "manually manage music" option without plugging it into my new computer (cause then it will automatically sync with my new iTunes and I’ll lose a lot of music).
Is there a way to switch your preference without plugging in your iPod?
