I really don’t listen to the radio while I am driving, I listen to my Ipod. My car stereo has an Aux jack in the front where I plug the Ipod double-ended male jack cable into. The other end, of course goes in the headphone jack of the ipod.
The problem lies whenever I want to charge the ipod from the dock connector AND LISTEN to music at the same time. It DOES NOT MATTER if the engine is running or not, but there is line noise coming from somewhere and heard over the car speakers, and I can’t pinpoint it.
The noise sometimes varies in pitch and sometimes it just stays at one static hiss level.
The car stereo is not the problem because when it is playing a CD or on a radio station, there is no interference. I have tried other ipods in the car with the same resulting hiss. The only two causes it could be is the cigarette lighter USB charger (I have tried another cigarette lighter USB charger and I STILL GET A HISS!) AND/OR the USB Charging cord which connects to the docking port of the IPOD to charge the IPOD. But I can rule this out because I HAVE tried other USB charge/sync cables and I STILL GET A HISS.
Remember, I get a hiss regardless if the engine is on or off and the key is in ACC (Accessories).
The only thing I think it may be is that something is not sheilded, like the audio cable which connects from the ipod to the aux jack in the front face of the car stereo.
…Or maybe I am wrong…………I dunno……….
Is it possible to find a SHIELDED 3.5mm double-ended male cable to fit between the ipod and the car stereo aux jack? Think this would help??
Is it possible to find a USB car charger that filters out RF interference??? Think THIS would help??
………Just a note………its NOT only an Ipod problem either. My cellphone ALSO hisses out of the speakers when connectd to the aux jack of the stereo while charging from its OWN charger…
…….Any help would be appreciated………..
Thanks……..

It seems like since the new iPod came out with the camera they got rid of all cases and accessories for the other iPods. I have the 3G iPod touch and I really need a new case and screen protectors I can’t seem to find them anywhere. There is only things for the new one

I just upgraded to and iPhone 4. I have a dock that I used for my old iPod Touch, but it only works on iPods, and iPhone 3s and 3GS. I would like a docking station that works with my phone, has a clock/alarm, speakers, plays FM radio, etc. Where can I find one?
Thank you!(:

This weird girl in my class wore an xbox live headset on her ear and then twirled the chord around her hair as a ponytail and the girls in my class want to make her think she started a trend by all wearing hair accessories that have to do with xbox or gaming systems or ipods to spoof her. Some ideas?

I have car chargers for iPods that connect to the dock connector part of the iPod figuring it would still work for the iPhone. None of those work. What are some or a link to a list of some car chargers that are compatible with the iPhone?

I have a number of accessories, from a dock in my receiver to a port in my car, that are specifically designed for IPODs. I hate IPODs and don’t intend to ever own one. I’m hoping someone else makes a player that plugs in to an IPOD dock and can be controlled through the dock as well if possible. Thanks!

i searched the apple site and all i could find was a universal dock..don’t they just have a ihome or whatnot? speakers and dock for 4th generation ipod? anyone? and, since they seem to like to make everything, besides the ipods themselves, black or white..does anyone know what kind of paint i could use if i wanted color on my dock? could i use like..that car model painting stuff?
i know that there are plenty of docks, but i kinda wanted to know if there was one specifically for the 4th generation ipod. if you have to have a reason, lets just go with "i like my stuff to match" kind of ocp
I purchased a new car stereo that is ipod compatible. The Crutchfield web site says that even though you can play 4th generation iPod through the stereo the ipods can’t be charged.
you no the little white dock that comes with all ipod models wats the use it doesnt fit the ipods???
I have an ipod dock, "iHome," or "ip99," made for regular ipods, will it work for an iPod touch too?
I have a Toshiba Gigabeat. I’d like to be able to put it in a docking station with speakers, like you can with Ipods. Or is there just a way to hook it into regular stereo speakers?
Thanks. I don’t want an Ipod even if it’s free. I just want an answer to my question if anyone has one.
Thanks
I have seen some on eBay which look just like iPods but not sure if they have the same connectivity – if someone can advise I would be grateful. Thanks
Hi all
Just got my new 30gb white iPod video. Want to uncap the UK volume limiter. Used GoPod for previous iPods, but it does not currently support the new iPod.
Does anyone have an alternative or workaround?
Cheers
ok but the alternative?

I would like to get my daughter a shuffle for Christmas as the regular ipods are much more than I’m willing to invest in. But I would like to be able to get her a speaker set that will charge the shuffle and have all the options like alarm, etc. Where can I find one?
My mother-in-law has a 2nd Generation iPod that she would like to hook up to a docking station that would charge it while playing music. There are a lot of options out there for regular iPods or Nanos but I haven’t found one that is compatiatble with hers for under (which is more than the iPod costs).
I have been looking all over the internet and a lot of the docking stations say its compatible with "iPhone and iPod" or "compatible with Apple iPod" or something like that, and a few say "Compatible with iPod Touch" but others say only iPod Touch 1G, so I’m really confused if it is or isn’t compatible with the iPod touch 2G… anyway, do you know if these 3 docking stations are compatible with the iPod Touch 2G?
Philips DC910/37
Philips DC177/37
Philips DCM230
Thank you so much!
okay… I’m confused! All docking stations work with all ipods, some just dont play? So then, why does it say compatible with: so and so if you are saying it is compatible with everything
i prefer it to be 0.00 or less, because i have MANY CDs ive burned and im thinking i should just buy a transmitter so it doesnt take up some room. Plus i have an iPod nano (first gen) and it needs to be compatable with that.
I think there are some docking stations out there for ipods so it attaches just like it attaches to the computer so it charges too.
My husband got an ipod not too long ago, and I know he would like to at least be able to listen to it in the car. I would like to get him what he needs for his birthday but I know nothing about ipods or the best accessories to get him for this…any ideas or recommendations?
