Allrighty so I have an Ipod classic 8gb and for my birthday Im looking to get something along the lines of maybe a docking station or some type of hookup to where I can plug it in and I can play music from my Ipod on my radio/CD player or possibly in my car.

My question is, what kind of hookup or docking station would you reccomend to allow me to listen to music from my Ipod in my car or on my radio/CD player? If so, where can i get one?

Thanks very much everyone~!

I am 16 so I DON’T have money to blow on something more than like USD more or less. Haha I don’t have an iPod dock, headphone thingy, or a cassette player. I tried plugging in though the cigarette lighter and that didn’t work so I just have the radio and a CD player. And my laptop isn’t compatible with my portable CD drive thingy so I can’t burn CD’s. Life is great… :b It’s a waste to burn that many CD’s anyways because I’m a big music person and I’d have about 50 CD’s by the time I’m done burning just the essential favourites…
My car is a 2006 Mini Cooper so if you have/have had one and there is a headphone jack that I don’t know about, please let me know. I’ve checked thoroughly though and I don’t think there is one…
And yes, I know I’m VERY lucky to have a Mini as my first car!!! I treat it like I would treat a baby. Hahaha

i have my ipod video in a powered dock in my car. when i turn the ignition on, power charges the ipod. is there a way to make this charge trigger the play button on the ipod also?
i am aware pressing a button will initiate playing the ipod. i am looking for a function like a cd player where the cd starts playing with the car’s ignition without need for pressing the play button.

The car is a prius and it only has a CD player inside. Also, she travels far distances, so I really don’t want to get the kind that attaches to the radio and comes in static-y between counties. I would love some advice. Thanks.

I’d like one that charges my nano, but also has awesome sound.
I don’t want like surround sound for iPod that takes a lot of time to assemble. Just a plain speaker that plays my music and has a remote will do.
I don’t want one that doubles as a CD player/alarm clock/etc…I just want one that docks my nano, plays it, charges it, has a remote, and has awesome sound.

My sister just got a Bose SoundDock Tuesday and it is cool. I’ve listened to it a couple of times, but the remote won’t allow you to go back to menu so I guess that is a factor too, ability to go back to menu from the remote. I heard the Apple Hi-Fi is good too, but to me the Bose looks a lot better. I may be missing the best one out there just because it isn’t a big named one (Bose, Apple, etc.). I’m ready to pay the big price if I get sound and everything I listed for it. I want it worth my while.
I’ve done a little research with other people who have asked the same question, but still haven’t come to a decision.

Okay, so I got my brother’s car and his audio system was stolen so right now I’m driving around without music! It’s horrible, so I need to buy a car audio system. Assume everything is stolen, speakers, radio/cd player, cables, everything. I’m not actually sure what was stolen if it’s just one piece or all, but if you can compile a list of what I need to buy and what you suggest I should buy then that would be great. I’m looking for something cheap, REALLY CHEAP. I just need to be able to play some music while I drive. The requirements are, 1 need to be able to plug in my ipod, so something with a 3.5mm input jack (or ipod dock i guess), I need the radio to find new music (i guess make it HD radio if it’s cost effective), and that’s it. You can add the shittiest speakers to the list if you want, but if it’s cost effective to go up like, 0 total, then I’d probably go for that. So to summarize, total all the lowest cost items that I would need that meets my requirements, and 0 to the total cost and see if there’s anything better that I can get that is or is under the new total cost. Thanks.
              I have a 92 prelude.

Pardon me for being such an old relic – but I have not gotten an Ipod yet and I need some info. First – please note- the thing I really need it for is IN MY CAR. The CD player in my car has never worked well — never will – I am too rough on my cars (live on 20 acre farm – lots of dust & dirt in the Jeep). So — could I finally get music in the car via an Ipod?? I do not want to do it with earbuds – cops wont let you in my state.
Big Lots just sent me an ad for this: HMDX Audio iPod Dock & Wireless Speaker System
Couldn’t I just sit the speakers in my car and I’d be set?
Also – once I have an IPOD, where do I go to download music AND – most important thing — I am not yet believing that they will have the music I want to hear. It is old and some is obscure. Jethro Tull, which is old and Steeleye Span, which is obscure.
OK, Folks — drag me, kicking and screaming, into the 21st !
                Thanks

I want to use my ipod in my car. I don’t want to use the wireless FM thing or the cassette adapter. What is the difference between car stereo integration and using auxiliary car adapters? What is the best/cheapest way to install something? Should I use the front console area to plug into or the CD player under the rear seat? What is the cable that I need? Thanks for any info, especially detailed but not too technical sounding. LOL.

Well, my BFs birthday is in two weeks and when he came to town two days ago, we ended up going to Wally World to try and find one of these. Problem was, the cheapest one they had was ! Well, my bf’s birthday is in two weeks and I’d like to get one of these for him, and I was sure I could find a much better deal online.

I found one for but honestly, it almost seems too good to be true. What do you think?

It operates using radio frequency, which I kind of like only because in one of his trucks has a CD player whereas the other uses a tape deck, so this adapter would work for both. However, the fact that it operates on radio frequency also makes it sound shoddy to me. Would he get static, then, or would the sound quality be just fine?

What do you think? Its only , but I’d like to get some opinions before I buy it as a gift for him.

                Thanks!

Ok, I am looking for a docking system that is compatible with the iPod and iPhone that charges it while it plays and also has a built-in cd player. I’ve been looking around and was quite impressed with the Bose Sound Dock but can’t justify 0 for some speakers… Plus, I think I might just be caught up in the Bose marketing scheme… Has anyone heard a really great system?

I’d prefer not to use a fm transmitter, because we’ll be taking a trip thru 6 states soon-won’t I keep having to search for new stations? I’m so confused about what i’m finding-I need a straight answer PLEASE!

I believe it’s a 2nd Gen iPod Touch. I really want to get the Bose SoundDock Series II but it doesn’t have radio or a CD player. I’m willing to pay up to 0 and I’d like it to have amazing sound quality, just like the Bose. And preferably in black and I don’t want it to be a clock radio. I want a top quality dock, not the cheap crappy stuff.

My old cdplayer/serero just died out on me and I’m looking for a replacement. It can no long play cds.
I have checked those stores online. I am not looking for the name of a store, I am more so looking for a name of what I listed above. a cd player/ipod docking station with a projection clock.

I’m trying to find one that matches my needs. Listing the names of stoes without a link to the product I described doesn’t help me much.

All i have in my car is a straight up CD player nothing else just that and a radio with a volume dial and a channel dial. No electronic cigarette lighter/adapter or a mp3 jack. What can i get to Play my ipod in my car?

I dont have a headphone port or cassette player in my car its just a CD player that isnt manufacturer fitted, is there any adapter I can use to listen to my ipod in my car? please help!
