I really don’t listen to the radio while I am driving, I listen to my Ipod. My car stereo has an Aux jack in the front where I plug the Ipod double-ended male jack cable into. The other end, of course goes in the headphone jack of the ipod.
The problem lies whenever I want to charge the ipod from the dock connector AND LISTEN to music at the same time. It DOES NOT MATTER if the engine is running or not, but there is line noise coming from somewhere and heard over the car speakers, and I can’t pinpoint it.
The noise sometimes varies in pitch and sometimes it just stays at one static hiss level.
The car stereo is not the problem because when it is playing a CD or on a radio station, there is no interference. I have tried other ipods in the car with the same resulting hiss. The only two causes it could be is the cigarette lighter USB charger (I have tried another cigarette lighter USB charger and I STILL GET A HISS!) AND/OR the USB Charging cord which connects to the docking port of the IPOD to charge the IPOD. But I can rule this out because I HAVE tried other USB charge/sync cables and I STILL GET A HISS.
Remember, I get a hiss regardless if the engine is on or off and the key is in ACC (Accessories).
The only thing I think it may be is that something is not sheilded, like the audio cable which connects from the ipod to the aux jack in the front face of the car stereo.
…Or maybe I am wrong…………I dunno……….
Is it possible to find a SHIELDED 3.5mm double-ended male cable to fit between the ipod and the car stereo aux jack? Think this would help??
Is it possible to find a USB car charger that filters out RF interference??? Think THIS would help??
………Just a note………its NOT only an Ipod problem either. My cellphone ALSO hisses out of the speakers when connectd to the aux jack of the stereo while charging from its OWN charger…

My iPod won’t charge on the dock or the usb cord. I also tried a car charger. It had the low battery sign from when it gets really low. Now the screen is all black and when I try to restart it there are lines on the screen. It is only 3 months old. Its the new 80gb iPod classic. How can I charge it?

i got a nano so i’m thinking about selling on ebay or soemthing…just wanted to get an idea if it’s even WORTH putting it up:
1) Like i said, 2nd Generation Pink iPod Mini (4GB)
2) FANTASTIC cosmetic shape. no dents, screen prestine (i took VERY good care of it). 1 TINY nick on the top left corner…very small.
3) the battery life isn’t great. it’s at least a few hours (w/out backlight…which isn’t necissary). mucho better than other stories I’ve heard…
4) I’ll include 3 cases (1 leather flip, 2 gel cases…all different shades of pink), a car charger, wall charger, dock adapter
5) comes with the ORIGINAL BOX and all paperwork/stickers/cables/cd EVERYTHING (the original earbuds it came with broke a LOONG time ago, I’ll include NEW ones).
So yeah, how much would you pay? Just wondering…merci for your opinions

I have an iPod classic 80 gig that is out of warranty. The wheel works for scrolling but none of the menu buttons work (pause, select, etc…). I’m trying to find a mobile accessory that will hook on the iPod that would work like the wheel. I’ve already looked at car radio adapters, the problem with a lot of those is it takes a car charger. Recently i have been having an issue getting my iPod Classic (80gb) to charge from my sony CDX-GT430IP head unit. The iPod has worked great with the unit for probably about 8 months. For about a day or two i have noticed there is no charging symbol on the battery meter on the iPod. I tried pluging in my iPhone 3g and the phone charges with no problem. I then plugged my car charger in to my iPod, works, then plugged my iPod into my surround sounds dock, it charges just fine. I’m wondering if my 2 year old iPod needs a new battery after being charged virtually nonstop by the head unit while I’m driving. I’m leaving for college in a few days and would love for it not to die on the multi-hour drive. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I know there is a docking thing but I think the plug goes into the bottom of your iPod and I know one goes into the top for the speakers. Can you leave the bottom unplugged so you can plug the bottom in with a car charger? Like charger into the bottom of iPod and Logitech speaker chord into the top? Would that work???

It’s seriously the most annoying thing ever, I have an ipod dock, ipod radio, car charger, and wall charger. They all worked on my old ipod, but this new nano will only charge when connected to a computer.
Why is this? Is apple just trying to get me to buy new stuff for my new ipod?

Hello, i have a few electronics that i use and would like to have with me. right now alls i do is just through them in a gym bag. Yes they do get scratched up.
My question is that if there is any way of making or buying a little case for all of them like the size of a note book or binder with foam cut outs or whatever buttons or pockets…. I have an iPod with one cord…… a small camera with 3 cords….PDA with a small cradle and cords it also has a key board about the same size….i have a GPS with car charger and a big stand is there any way to buy this if so web site plz .
