I’m looking for portable ipod speakers for the beach and the basketball court. Something loud with a lot of bass. I want the battery power option so I can take it anywhere. I see the Bose Sounddock is pretty popular. The IK500 by kicker sounds great but needs AC power from a wall. Any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

Bose Commitment Statement? So my latest test is a Bose Sounddock II. I’m returning today because it’s musicality is not of the best and it has the highs way overboosted with missing "highest notes".

Unhappy with it, so I’m returning it.
As I’m packing it up for the journey back to the store, I noticed a sheet: "Our Commitment".
It sounds really good… But I really don’t think that they abide by all their words.
      What do you think?
Here’s a copy of the (almost) identical commitment statement from their site:

      "Our commitment to you

Now, I’m sure that there is absolutely no comparison between the SkullCandy Pipe and the Portable SoundDock, but im asking just to reassure myself. I have a SkullCandy Pipe and I am not extremely pleased with it. If I upgrade to the Bose SoundDock, will I be able to notice the difference/Is it worth it?

I own a Bose in-ear headphones and Bose Sounddock portable and I think their sound quality is pretty good. Why do most people on online forums HATE Bose. They won’t even consider it, like when the word Bose comes up they just reject it immediately. Have they ever owned Bose? Or are they just saying what others are saying. I understand Bose is overpriced, but are they really crap like people say they are. And whats the difference with PAPER cones compared to others? They say paper cones are cheap and the worst. Maybe they may be fragile but may be the best sound? IDK, help me. I love sound and music but I can’t decide because the Bose marketing really attracts me!

I got a Bose Sounddock 10 for xmas. It died after 10 days. I’ve had the smaller Bose iPod doc for about 4 years with no problems. And my last 2 cars have Bose systems that work great. I was surprised when the Sounddock took a dump. The sound quality of Bose is awesome, no doubt. But how about dependability? The Sounddock 10 is a 0 item. I’m not sure if I want to replace the one I got or maybe go with another brand.

                      Hello:)
I have a set of Bose SoundDock speakers that I got for Christmas in 2006 or 2007 (not quite sure..) and I’m planning on getting a 2nd generation iPod Touch in the next few weeks. Does anybody know if my speakers will work with the Touch?
                      Thanks much!

I’d like one that charges my nano, but also has awesome sound.
I don’t want like surround sound for iPod that takes a lot of time to assemble. Just a plain speaker that plays my music and has a remote will do.
I don’t want one that doubles as a CD player/alarm clock/etc…I just want one that docks my nano, plays it, charges it, has a remote, and has awesome sound.

My sister just got a Bose SoundDock Tuesday and it is cool. I’ve listened to it a couple of times, but the remote won’t allow you to go back to menu so I guess that is a factor too, ability to go back to menu from the remote. I heard the Apple Hi-Fi is good too, but to me the Bose looks a lot better. I may be missing the best one out there just because it isn’t a big named one (Bose, Apple, etc.). I’m ready to pay the big price if I get sound and everything I listed for it. I want it worth my while.
I’ve done a little research with other people who have asked the same question, but still haven’t come to a decision.

I’ve got 0. I’m buying sound equipment for myself. Should I either spend it on a 0 home theater system that’s volcanically loud (which I’m a huge fan of) or a plays-every-note Bose portable sounddock I could bring anywhere I wanted. Factors to keep in mind are: I’d definitely get more use out of the sounddock seeing as my roommates might get pissed at how loud my home theater system is and I could bring the sounddock with me everywhere. Though the entire home theater just seems like a much greater value for the money. So which would you guys choose? The home theater system or the Bose Sounddock

Yesterday, we removed the insert for my Nano so we could use a bigger Ipod in the insert.

i borrowed my brothers bose sounddock to play some music in my room, but when my brother took it back the speakers don’t work anymore… All I did was play music from my IPhone. I read online that if you resent you phone it should work, but I tried that and it didn’t. All there is to the dock is a volume up and a volume down button. You plug it into the wall if that helps you figure anything else out… Please tell me what I can do to fix it. I’m in huge trouble and he’s pissed at me…

Is the Ipod Touch 2nd gen compatible with the bose sounddock 1st gen? I’m aware that it does not charge and I know how to fix this, but does it play music fine? Is the only problem that it doesn’t charge? I am not talking about the Portable Bose Sounddock, but the older 1st gen ones. So if anyone knows i’d appreciate a response since I was considering buying an iPod Touch 2nd gen but if it doesn’t work with my 0 speakers I use to work out then it’s a waste of money. Thanks.

I have a brand new Bose SoundDock (not the portable kind) and my iPod is about 3 years old 40GB. The iPod used to play through the SoundDock but for no apparent reason the sound no longer comes through. The folks at Apple are baffled as are the folks at Bose. My iPod plays in other Bose SoundDock models and other brands of sound docks but stopped working on this particular model of sound dock. Other iPod models work on my Bose SoundDock (tested with a few different ones). Tested my iPod on the same Bose model in the Apple store and it did not work there either, so it seems it is not my own Bose SoundDock. Tried making sure I had the latest software and rebooted the iPod. No joy. Anyone have this experience?

Hi, i have a sound dock for my ipod already, its a iwantit iw900 from currys for 65 quid, its good but im not sure whether it upto scratch.
Is the Apple speakers or Bose Sounddock any better? If so, which of the two (Apple or Bose) is the better one?

Can the cope with lots of volume for partys and low volume for when im in my room without loosing any sound quality at all?
My current iwantit is great at louder volume but when its just me, the bass goes, the treble goes, its just not as good as it is when its loud.

                                any suggestions :D

                                thanks
