When I plug my friend’s ipod into the usb on my computer only my itune’s library comes up. It asks me if I want to syc my friend’s with mine & I don’t because it will delete all of her songs. I just want to add some of mine to hers but I can’t get her library to open on my computer. Even if my ipod is not plugged in at the same time. What software do I need to see her ipod shuffle library?
I’m trying to buy some HIFI equipment for ipod/pc use (mp3s if i don’t have better sound files). Now I’m left with a decision I researched quite heavily and it seems to me if I buy a ipod docking system the best one to use is probably the Jamo i300 or the Klipsch iGroove. The igroove got fantastic reviews for the price but i could spend more money and get the jamo but would it be worth it for the price?? My other problem is it’s only my girlfriend who wants me to get a docking system because they look nicer (namely the igroove) as I was looking at the fatman amps or some cambridge audio amps and some nice speakers then buying a lead to connect them through the bottom of the ipod. So round two of questions goes like this, is the fatman worth it or are tubes not so good for amps out of the guitar arena, if so which amp should i get, and finally would this actually be better than purchasing the docking systems as then can charge and provide all needed?
I also wasn’t looking to spend more than £400 less if poss. and don’t need too much volume.
Thanks very very much, tis greatly appreciated.
towards the end of the paragraph i meant would it be worth getting separate hifi parts when a docking system would do all and charge the ipod
My wife is a college professor and she heard our friends IPOD playing from a docking station in her car…. she wants one like it…. will probably only hold a couple hundred songs.
She has an Apple computer with USB connections…. Please advise of a total unit (IPOD & Docking Station)for 0 or under.
Best Buy kinda thing
I just bought an 8gb ipod touch to replace my old 2gb ipod nano. My speakers charge my nano but not my iTouch. I have the Klipsch – iGroove SXT Sound System for Apple® iPod™ and iPhone. The link is here:

I found these iPod shower speakers, and it says the speakers are waterproof. It also comes with a remote. Is the remote also waterproof? I know the docking station isnt waterproof, but can the speakers and remote be underwater?
Alex-what do you mean by ‘not waterproof at all’

I have an iPod Classic 80gb. I’ve had it for about 4 months and barley took up 2 gigs of space. i think all that space is unnecessary so I really want to sell it and buy a iPod Touch 8gb. It’s under great condition except for one minor scratch on the front screen. Barley noticeable. Oh and I don’t have the original earphones because they broke. I have all the stuff that came in the box when I bought it. I’m also going to sell it with the following:
1. Black Case

I was thinking 300 bucks. I was going to add the wall charger but im going to need that for the iPod Touch. Would you buy it at that price?
DAING! the links dont work. well the prices were 24.99, 20.00, 9.99 in that order.
I have a iHome right now, but I am getting a new iTouch and am wondering which is better, a Bose Sound Dock, or a Sony S-AIRPLAY? The price doesn’t matter (they are the same anyways)
Or any other suggestions?
Bose Sound Dock: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8509438&type=product&id=1186005749503
Sony S-AIRPLAY: http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=8198552921665518556
Any pro’s or con’s to either??
Thanks,
Bri

I am in between the 2nd one and last one
Which one do you think is best and why do you think i should get it instead of the others any and all advice/help is appreciated
I would also like to say thank you in advance to all of you that answer.
i’m getting a Onkyo system (reciever, speakers, & ipod dock) for a total of 0(including 5 yr warranty(.99) and speaker stands(2 set .99). exact amount isnt definite. exact amound isn’t added right, just roughly. still with parents, room is 12X12. HDTV speakers aren’t loud enough. buying this for the future. When i move out i want a system that will last me a good 6-9 yrs of great sound for my bluray xbox, watever. tell me if there’s a cheaper alternate route. i’m set on buying this. any suggestions followed by resources will be helpful.
Ok so im looking to buy this receiver from sony —>
http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10151&catalogId=10551&langId=-1&productId=8198552921665944651#footNotes (Sony STR-DN1000)
But in the details it says "Sub Woofer Crossover : 17 Point (40-200Hz)" what does does that mean? Does that how much frequency my subwoofer receives?
Im also looking at the Denon AVR-590 and the Pioneer VSX-819H-K
I like the looks of them all but i rather have the sony because of the bravia sync and the DMPORT (i already own the ipod dock) but im not sure because the THD is really high (1.0% THD at 110watts but at 100watts it’s 0.09%) how ever that stuff works out to…
So what i want to know is what does "Sub Woofer Crossover" mean (because i got a subwoofer with a 23-160Hz frequency response and i want to use it at its full potential) and maybe a recommendation on one of the three receivers…
i also like the sony because of the digital cinema auto calibration feature it has to adjust the speaker levels..
I’ve just purchased this docking station which comes with bookend speakers: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Logic3-Hybrid-Vacuum-Amplifier-Control/dp/B001IBFBUO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1235140704&sr=8-1
Currently its sat on a table with a glass top, a bit like this:http://www.konteaki-furniture.co.uk/images/zen_glass_top_coffeee_table.jpg
Would I be right in assuming the sound quality would be much better if I sat the whole thing on a nice floating shelf? I guess the chunkier the better?
Thanks!
Thanks for your response – this is actually for lounge and not bedroom. The floating shelf I was thinking would go just above the table, maybe waist height but could go higher (or lower!)
I was more concerned about whether the fact the speakers are stood on a thin glass table would have a bad effect on the sound quality and would shelves be better for this?
How mch would it cost to replace a Dock connector for a iphone?
&
If i take a jailbroken iphone to apple, what will happen?
Aaron.
Does That mean i have to pay for repairs?
I tried using my iLive that I used for my iPod nano generation3(or 4..i forgot, but it was the newer one) and it said "This device does not support charging your iPod" & i usually like to use an iPod dock to charge my iPod, not the computer. So can you please help me.

I want to buy some docking station speakers for my gf’s ipod touch & I’m wondering if I should buy one with am/fm radio…BUT if the ipod touch already has the ability to play radio (which I doubt) I’ll just buy one without the am/fm option.
I’m wanting it to sound wonderful & loud. I have narrowed it down to 3 favorites….
1.Altec Lansing inMotion iM7
2.Bose SoundDock Digital Music System
3.Klipsch iGroove
I am really wanting the inMotion iM7 because it is so portable. I think Bose is overrated just because of it’s name. I don’t know much about the iGroove.
***KEEP IN MIND THAT I NEED ONE TO FIT THE BRAND NEW NANO (2ND GENERATION) IPOD.****
Will my ipod fit these sounddocks? Which one is the best? Any other suggestions?

i want to know before i order it.
I currently own an iPod video, a Kensington iPod dock, a Polkaudio 5.1 surround sound system, and an Onkyo receiver/amplifier.
I’m trying to connect my iPod with the sound system; since my iPod dock doesn’t have digital outputs, the best way I can think of is to use a Y cable (headphone plug on one side and RCA-red & white- on the other) to connect to my receiver.
However, I was told that only digital audio connections (coaxial & optic… can fully work with Dolby Digital 5.1 while RCA cables can’t.
So my question is that is the information above true? Or Is there a way to make my iPod work with my Dolby Digital surround sound system Fully (to make it functional 5.1 not "2.1")?
Thanks
Jimmy
Looking for an ipod docking station with a remote, speakers, AM & FM radio, alarm with natural sounds, clock, and other gadgets. Please give me a name or a website.
Do these cradles charge your Ipod without hjaving to connect it to a PC or laptop?
Please answer as quickly as you can….
This is the one I wanna buy:

Do you have to hook it up to a laptop or pc or mac to charge it (the Ipod)?
specifically i have a car charger & headphones that i bought w/ my ipod about 2yrs ago. will they be compatible w/ the new ipod touch? i rather not shell out extra dough on accessories.
At the moment, I’ve got a PS3, SKY+ HD and my TV is a Sony Bravia KDL-40X2000. I’m looking to get a good A/V receiver that can handle uncompressed 7.1 sound. I just want one HDMI cable going from each box (PS3 and SKY HD)to the receiver and one HDMI cable going into the TV.
With this, I’m looking to get a 7.1 speaker set that can plug into the A/V receiver.
I’m really looking to spend about £600-£800 altogether on the speakers and receiver.
Any advice on the best Receiver/speakers I can get for this price would be great!
……………………………
As you can probably tell, I’m a bit of a noob to this Home Theatre stuff and I want to be able to dock my iPod with the receiver. I’ve found this Remote Interactive dock thing ( Onkyo DS-A2X Remote Interactive Dock: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo) and I was wondering if anyone could explain what it does and what it plugs into.
Thanks in advance for any advice on anything here!
