wiring my car for an ipod, trying to make a dock. best way for a telescopic ipod wire?

ok, so i hope this is the right section for this, it’s kind of a random question.
i’ve been working on my car’s audio system for a good while, subs, amp, speakers, etc.
i put in an aux. imput, that is for an ipod. i am trying to make this weird hole in my car into an ipod docking station. this wont be too hard, i have a good idea what to do for it.
the problem is i want to make it a telescopic cable, because i don’t want it to have to sit in the dock the whole time while changing music and everything. i’ve been looking, and am yet to find a telescopic ipod extender. i haven’t even found a regular extender for less than 40 bucks. i don’t mind paying that if i can make it telescopic. is there a good way to do that? or maybe just have a spool that it can wrap up on. make it telescopic that way?
does anyone know the best way to do this, and if there isn’t an easy/cheap way.
or if you have any other ideas to do with this.

Help with my iPod Nano 3rd Gen.(4GB)?

A few days ago, my iPod was left in a car(not in the sun though) while it was charging for a few minutes. I noticed when I took it off that it was hot(but not from the heat in the car as the A/C was on) and the screen is totally black & won’t come back on. I’ve tried restarting it & charging it on my Dock & on the Computer & neither work, the back just gets hot again. Please help!
I’ve tried to restart it numerous times & it still won’t work. We’re thinking it might just need a new battery…? What do you think???

if you connect an ipod to bose speaker via 3.5m input volume is poor do I need an amplifier.?

COnnecting ipod to a campion 5 Bose speaker system (designed for attachment to PC) volume is very poor. WHen connecting to a sounddock volume is great. Do I need an amp to connet ipod to and then amp to speakers ??

will i be able to listen to my iPod Touch on the Bose dock?

it was the one that came out before that… it doesnt say iPod Touch because the speakers came out a little before they made ipod touch.
does anyone have these speakers and can still listen to theyre iPod Touch??

Ok so I was on a school trip where all different schools go to a university/college for a week to see what it would be like if we went there, & we got our own dorms and everything.

Anyway I was good friends with this girl who went to my school who was going on the trip too and i already knew to her cause i talked to her quite a few times at school and stuff & she used to run up to me and randomly hug me sometiems :L we where not CLOSE friends but good friends and she was always really nice to me at school and stuff & I’ve always thought she was one of the nicest people ever. But one night when we where both locking our dorms ( we where next door to each other) she said to me, ‘Oh you dont have to lock it, they lock by themselves when you close them’. ‘And I was like oh.. Well im just going to use the key to be safe anyway, haha ’ cause I had like my ipod docking station :L which my parent would kill me if i lost it. Anyway I thought maybe she was telling the truth so I checked later but my door definetly did not lock by itself, if i just closed it i could open it again right away. Another thing is it was her birthday a few nights later so to celebrate me her and a few other girls where in her dorm she went to another room and told us when we left just to close the door on our way out, so when we all left I was the last one and I closed the door and went to my own room. The next morning she was asking shocked, how her room managed to lock when she had the key, she then started to talk about how it was freaky her door locked itself and her room must be haunted or something. Anyway If her door like she told me auto locked when you closed it, why would she be freaking out if that was true? :S

I know all the facts are there saying that she was trying to steal from me… but It’s just so hard to beleive shes always been so nice to me.. but I guess you can never trust anyone, what do you think?

Custom Car Audio help?

want to redo my car audio in my 4dr 2002 ford focus. I am looking for suggestions about what products i should get, this is what i have now in my car starting with the deck a cheap dual ipod docking deck, im not sure what to replace it with? factory front speakers and back, I was thinking about replacing those with Hifonics Zeus ZXI6.5C 6.5-Inch 2-Way Component Speaker System (Pair) for the fronts and Hifonics Zeus ZXI693 6-Inch x 9-Inch 3-Way Speakers for the backs. Now lets move to the subs and amps, right now i have 2 12" dual subs in a custom ported box powered by a 1000 watt sony amp, i was thinking about replacing those with kick CVR’s. Right now my system pisses off my neighbors but i want more like the cops called type of system lol jp, but i do want more bump and pound plus a clear crisp sound. I Mainly just want to change the deck, speakers and subs, I dont think anything is wrong with the sony amp honestly but i am open to any suggestion please and thank you.
well ive decided on a couple items now just need to save up some money, but yeah i cant wait to roll up after i redo it ima try and shake there pics off there walls lousy neighbors and they cant do nothing cause of noise ordinance laws hahaha but yeah ima go with cvr’s in the trunk probably powered by a hifonics brutus, along with Hifonics fronts and backs and alpine head unit

Help with wiring outdoor speakers?

Now is there any way i could get a dock for my iphone to play over these speakers without getting a receiver. Or would i have to get a receiver and then plug the dock into the receiver. BTW.. i’m planning on having the receiver or dock inside the house and run the speaker wire underground.
I dont buy a combo because i cant find good dependable speakers with a dock. I also need outdoor speaker system so my options are limited.

I want to buy iPod accessories, and I know which ones I want, but I don't know much about them or their prices

What I want to buy are these:
- Radio Remote
- Power Adapter
- Universal Dock
- Remote (do they even sell this seperately?)
- AV Cables.
There are so many of what I listed above in the Apple Store. It says the Radio Remote is . Okay. The Power Adater is . Fine, but here’s the problem: It says that a Power Adapter is included with the AV Cables – but then there are cheaper cables that don’t have the adapter. And there’s the Universal Dock, which is most confusing. There’s one for which comes with a remote and a lot of features, including 5 Cables, which may include the AV Cables. I have no idea. Look at these two: One Dock has a remote, which I’d like, but it costs . The other one costs , with no remote, and I think no cables as well

Will the iHome Clock radio made for iPod fit the iPhone?

So I want to buy an iHome Clock radio for my iPhone but I’ve found that the ones made to work for the iPod only are much cheaper than those made to work for the iPhone. Since they have the same functions I’m wondering if someone has tried and knows if the dock fits the iPhone as well and works in order for me to save some money. (I have the 1st generation iPhone)

Need advice with my car.?

Hello, i am 16 years old and am getting a car next month. The car im getting is a mazda 626 (year 2000) This car is my grandmas old car and looks like its brand new. Of course all guys want a sick car to drive around in. I know i dont have the best car to supe up but i wanna give it a try. I plan on putting in a nice sound system with an ipod dock. It might be a possiility to put on a body kit with rims, but that might get a little expensive. So, i need some help:

*I looked into speakers and then my one friend said i needed an amp and some other stuff? If i want to get a quality sound system (primarily for bass rap) what should i be looking for? Any suggestions? Websites?

*Now i really dont know if a mazda 626 is meant to have body kits and stuff like that. But i was looking to get a full body kit, spoiler, and rims. But it looked rather expensive and i was wondering if anyone knew a good place to buy body kits and stuff like that? I really want the sound system, this would be a bonus. Is my car worth buying a body kit?

*The interior of my car is rather nice. I have leather seats and like i said th car is almost brand new. Low mileage… I just need suggestions on a sound system, body kit, spoiler, and rims. Thank you

what does it mean when car audio speakers are classified as 3 way, or 4 way?

i am trying to pick a radio, amp, and speakers for my 2001 GMC Jimmy. I already have 2 " speakers in the doors and they are still good but now i gotta get 2 6"x9"s, and get some more speakers to put in the back of the jimmy. I am trying to get a 200W Ipod docking radio.

Home Theater Audio/Video Receiver – Which one would you recommend?

I was hoping not to pay more than 0 – 0 max if possible but will pay more if I don’t have a choice.

I just got a Vizio 55" & 32" LCD 1080p (No 3D on either)….

*** I want at least (4) HDMI inputs (1.4 ?) – 5 inputs would be nice though

I will be using *Verizon Fios TV , *DVD player (for now but will buy Blue Ray soon) , *Wii Game console & *Macbook Pro computer (dvi to hdmi adaptor?). I will possibly be using my *iPhone to dock also – video and audio

*** Something that will sound nice for a 12 x 12 room (I am using JBL speakers) I probably only need it to be 5.1 Surround (not 7.1) because it is a small room?

*** Upconverting capability (do I need this?)
