question about a friend who is tactile sensitive?
I have been friends with him for a year. He is the type of guy who does not like to be touched hugged, etc. Tactile sensitive.
But one thing I have noticed oiver the time he has gotten more comfortable. I somtimes invertenly have my hand for example up against his hand and he does not bother to move it. Or another thing that I was fidling with my ipod in my car on its ipod dock. He was on the pasanger side, and his knee was agecent to the dock and I had no choice but to have my hand cradling his knee while adjusting the ipod. He did not bother to move it. We are not gay or such.
Is this a thing that he is more comfortable with me or if it is can anyone elaborate on that. I have heard of personal bubbles but whats this all about.

In my opinion it’s one of the following:
1.) His problem is more with anxiety than sensitivity, and over time you have become less of the other-worldly stranger and more a part of his own world, or
2.) the actions you mention were not the specific types of things that caused him to react. Hypersensitive people (like myself) do not respond to everything equally – certain things, like sudden jolts or perhaps awkward skin caresses may specifically induce a negative response, while normal touching may not.
Some people are just not comfortable with touch, especially if it’s with another dude. But like you said, he probably grew comfortable around you as well as others, so he’s probably not as insecure as he was and he can allow people to touch him without any drawbacks.
