Is there an MP3 player that is compatible with IPOD docks that isn’t an IPOD?

I have a number of accessories, from a dock in my receiver to a port in my car, that are specifically designed for IPODs. I hate IPODs and don’t intend to ever own one. I’m hoping someone else makes a player that plugs in to an IPOD dock and can be controlled through the dock as well if possible. Thanks!
