I want to purchase an IPOD and docking station for my wife who likes Show tunes and Oldies… Suggestions?
My wife is a college professor and she heard our friends IPOD playing from a docking station in her car…. she wants one like it…. will probably only hold a couple hundred songs.
She has an Apple computer with USB connections…. Please advise of a total unit (IPOD & Docking Station)for 0 or under.
Best Buy kinda thing

If she just wants a hundred songs or so, and doesn’t care about buying the newest technology, I’d go with the Ipod Mini. It’s been out quite a while, and you can find it at large discounts. You may be able to get one for around $80 online, and it comes in several colors.
The ipod nano is the most stylish and shiny of the Ipods, but costs more than the mini and you’ll need to buy her a protective case along with it, or else it will get scratched up very quickly and easily. I think the new Nano comes in several colors, but it will cost probably about $200 itself. The old Nano costs less, especially if you buy online, but only comes in black or white.
I don’t know of any specific brands with good docking stations, but I’d recommend eBay if you want to save a lot on electronics. Also, maybe a cheap Itunes gift card, so she can buy a few songs immediately.
Only way to find one cheap is to go used, and buying used isn’t such a good thing with Ipods because the battery will more than likely be toast and it will need to be sent in for replacement.
I suggest the Ipod Nano 2nd Generation 2 gigabyte silver. visit http://www.apple.com and you can look up the cost of buying the cable to hook it up to her car stereo.
Ipods aren’t sold below MSRP. So you might as well buy it from the Apple web site, you get free engraving if you go through them.
