How to transfer music from your ipod to your itunes library?
K, so i have itunes but i only have like 20 songs. My friend let me borrow his ipod and i want to delete my songs on itunes and have his songs instead. But everytime i plug his in it says shit like ‘restore ipod’ ‘format ipod’ and i don’t know what to click.
I just want his music on my itunes without anything deleting on his ipod.

Just plug it into the computer and go to iTunes, and it does it.
You can’t transfer songs FROM his ipod on to iTunes to put his songs on iTunes. You would have to sync your iPod to his iTunes library on his computer to get his songs on your iPod. But if you want his songs from his iTunes on yours, you would need to save his music file on a portable device and transfer them on to your computer that way, not from his iPod
1. Plug in the ipod.
2. Right click on the device name (ex. so and so’s ipod).
3. Hit transfer music.
I know that works for ipod touches but I am not sure about other ipod types.

The two people who just gave you "advice" don’t know what thy’re talking about. I thought that’s how it worked too and everything got erased. Basically what happens when you sync the ipod is that whatever is not in your library but is on your ipod gets deleted. So what you need to do is give the ipod back to your friend, have him copy and paste all of his music onto his ipod as files like you would do if you were using a thumb drive (USB). Then you take his ipod and plug it into your computer. Then treat is as a thumb drive and click on the ipod icon. It should take you to files that are on the ipod itself and not on itunes. Copy those music files into your itunes library. THEN sync your ipod and you should have the music. Sounds like a lenthy and complicated process but that’s how you do it. I had to learn the hard way when all my music erased.
