How to fix ipod car cassette adapter?
I have an Infinity I30 Bose stereo system. I have been using a cassette adapter to play my ipod, until one day the sound was only going to my right speaker. Then it started to not work at all. I bought another one, but the sound is pretty crappy and the volume can’t go high at all. Anyone know how to fix this? Also, i tried alternatives with the power outlet from the cigerette lighter. My cigerette lighter works, but when i connect those ipod adapters, they are not getting any power.

Take a Q-tip soaked in rubbing alcohol and gently clean the head on the Infinity I30 Bose stereo system.Maybe that will help.
For 1. the input jack for the Ipod could be bad (rare but happens) 2. (most likely cause) the copper wire in the insulated cord of the cassette adapter may have become frayed. This is a guess and check fix, unless you know where it frayed (if it frayed). You would go about fixing it by splicing the coating on the wire and re attaching the copper to complete the circuit. Best bet is to buy a new one, like 5 dollars at the dollar store or if you want a better one go to Radio Shack/Best Buy. Hope this helped.
