if it is the same cord you had it should work fine. it should have the ipod connection on one end and a usb on the other. try restarting your ipod. also go into itunes if it shows up in itunes but doesn't like you upload music you might need to restore you ipod because you may not have synced it to that computers itunes in the past. also apple is always a good place to go. bring the cord and your ipod and they can show you all you need to do. They do take a lot of time so if u have other apple related questions have them reddy also you can go onto the apple.com website and make an appointment (you need it) without one you could be waiting for hours.

Well if you can still charge it then you should still be able to plug it up 2 the computer
Because my charger needs a usb cord to get it going
It is a square and you have to plug the usb part of the cord into it then run the other part of it to you ipod
So if you can still charge it will probably still work!

But if you can't then thier is no way of adding songs if it isn't connected to the computer

Inless you have a ipod touch and you buy songs from the online itunes store

Hoped I could help!

well if the manufacturer's sticker said "only for charging iPod", then you can't download anything with it, because it's only got one purpose. Go back to the Apple store and ask for the USB cord for adding music, not the charger.
Apple only does this so they can have more products to overprice and have us buy separately and pay more ><
