How can I jailbreak iPod touch and back up my limewire tunes?
My dumbself updated my ipod to 3.0 and that messed up my jailbreak. I get all my songs from limewire and if I rejailbreak it, i will lose all my music. I dont want to download all that music again. So is there anyway I can rejailbreak my iPod touch 2nd Gen and back up my limewire music? Please help. It is appreciated.

Your stuff on limewire should still be in the library (not itunes limewire). After you jailbreak just go drag them from limewire to itunes. Thats what i did after i did my phone.

Redsn0w does not cause you to lose any information from your disk. You can back up your music like normal.
technically, jailbreaking is not illegal. A lot of people still do it, as I can see from all the other answers. However, unless you delete all your songs from your computer the instant you sync them(which would be really dumb) then they should still be there. If not, look in the Music folder and the recycle bin. As a side note, downloading music from limewire is illegal, so I wouldn’t advertise it.
You can jailbreak your iPod using redsn0w which you can find here http://theiphoneproject.org/windows/redsn0w-win_0.7.2.zip as I did. It works fine and you will not lose any data at all. It will install Cydia and Icy and it works with iPhone OS 3.0 great.
