How can I get my ipod touch to work on my car stereo?
I am wondering what I have to do or buy to get my ipod touch to work on my car stereo. I thought I heard that you can just tune your stereo to a certain station and it would work but maybe I need to buy a docking station of some sort?

The thing you are talking about is an FM transmitter. It plugs into your cigarette lighter (for power); you dock your iPod; and then it hijacks a radio station and uses it to transmit your iPod music. Once you figure out what radio frequency works best, you just use that one all the time.
The catch is that different transmitters seem to work (or not work) with different cars, even though they are all called universal transmitters. The best thing to do is to go to a store like Best Buy, Target or Walmart that carries several brands. Buy one; try it in the parking lot; return it and get another one if it doesn’t work in your car. (Ha ha, bring scissors to cut through the clamshell packaging.) It took me three tries to find one that worked in my Subara, but it was well worth the effort.
oh i have one of those, you have to match up the ipod to the stereo radio station, but no its a cord, but i think its kinda expensive, not sure, but you have to find the weakest station and then match it up with your ipod touch, i just used mine, cuz i got a ipod touch yesterday. but i don’t really care for this cord, so i used a different cord. The cord is put in the earphones of the Ipod touch and then you insert in the Aux in your car, i hope this made sense lol i had a hard time explaining it, but i like the second cord i told you about cuz it works with any Mp3 or Ipod
You would need a plug. I can’t name it because it has multiple names. My mom had an iTrip but it only worked on the first generation of the iPod and I don’t know which one you have. But my grandma had one for her nano and it worked for my iPod touch. It just wouldn’t charge it. It had monster on the plug. So that might be the name of it. You can find them at Walmart, Toys R Us, Target, or anything that sells iPods. Just go into the electronic aisle and there might be a bunch. If you aren’t sure, check the box and it will tell you what it is compatible with and what it is.
Hope that helps!
The cable the two above my post is called an auxiliary cable. They aren’t really that expensive at all.
