Does anyone know a device that will mean that my camera will take random photos?

I would like to get something that can do this so that I don’t have to take all the photos throughout the night. I know of the Sony Party dock, which sounds amazing but it would mean buying the camera to go with, and I love my current camera, and it is relatively new. So I would like something that did the same thing but can be added to any camera.
Is there anything like that?
