Does an iphone work on an ipod dock?
My boyfriend’s ipod has broken, and he also needs a new mobile. He plays his music from his ipod on the docks on our hi-fi’s.
If I buy him an iphone he could also use it as an ipod aswell, but I wondered if the iphone is compatible with the ipod docks on hi-fi’s. Does anyone know if they are compatible? If so which models?

In almost all cases, yes. The connection is exactly the same, but depending on the model of the ipod/iphone, there might not be enough room on the dock. I’ve seen some docks that were only big enough for the new, slimmer, ipods and iphones, but for the most part it’s a safe bet to assume that the phone should fit.
