Everytime I try to connect my iPod 30GB video to my friends sound system, it cuts out/freezes and stays that way for about another 20 seconds after I take it out of the kensington stereo dock. The screen goes dark firsty, then lights up with a black apple logo, and eventually goes back to the main menu. This happens when I press play when the iPod is docked. I can sometimes get the system to play music IF the song is playing before I connect it. But even doing it this way, the iPod times out after 10-15 mins, and freezes/shows the black apple logo… Does anyone know why this happens and what can be done to fix it?

Thanks, sounds like that stray voltage theory could be correct.
It only happens with my iPod on my friends system though, his own iPod works perfectly well with no glitches…
And just to make things slightly more complicated, my iPod works on my own docking station absolutely perfectly!?!
