Yes yes, unfortunately I am going to buy into the trend. I already have a very nice Mp3 player but my new car has iPod capability and I’m really interested in seeing how it works. My choices for iPod include (I only have 0 bucks).
iPod Nano 2gb (9 refurbished from Apple)
iPod Nano 4gb (9 refurbished from Apple)
iPod 20gb (noncolor) w/ Apple Dock (9 refurbished from Apple)
iPod 20gb (noncolor) (9 refurbished from online store)
iPod 40gb (noncolor) (9 refurbished from online store)
iPod 30gb (video) (9 refurbished from Apple)
Which do you guys think would be the best choice. There are certain trade offs with space and color screens, but I also want to have money left over…Thanks!

I’m trying to do my research. If I wanted to have up to maybe 1000 songs, would 2 Gb be enough or would I need more. I’ve been looking on Cnet and Amazon (because I like to see how customers rate the products and how Cnet rates the product). I like the battery life of the Iriver and some of the features, even though I would probably have a dock in my car, but the Ipod had more Gb. They are rated about the same, so it’s kind of a toss up. I don’t think that I need an fm tuner, but I guess that most come with that. My whole purpose is to replace my cd’s in my car. Any thoughts?

Okay so I have the first generation Ipod and I want to hook i up with my itrip that I have in my car but the itrip works with the docking system, something the first generation ipod does not have. So my question is, is there some kind of adapter I can buy that plugs into the firewire on the ipod to a dock jack so I can plug the itrip dock plug into a dock jack? so it would essentially be the opposite of this: http://www.amazon.com/iPod-Dock-Connector-FireWire-Adapter/dp/B000YUQ71W I tried using an itrp that plugs into the headphone jack but those suck.

I want to be able to play music from my car using my my itouch. but i only have a cigarette lighter. and i dont want to spend a lot of money either. im just looking for something cheap, but still will kind of last me a long time. i would prefer to be able to just buy it in a store and not online, but if thats the only way possible then okay. so again a cheap, non expensive, perferably instore buy, ipod touch dock. thank you !!!!! p.s…………and if it is online only please send a link to the website where i can buy it. no fakes, gimmics, tricks or shit like that.

I have heard Bluetooth is best, but there is also USB, AUX output, wireless FM transmitter and even car stereos with iPod docks. I’d think a direct connect without wireless would be best, but I really don’t know.
I currently have a Monster iCarPlay Wireless 800 FM Transmitter and the little tuning button on it likes to move on it’s own and it also seems sometimes it isn’t fully connected so I get seconds of static then the song comes back, like if I shift the car and hit the wire, it jiggles it loose. Not to mention the sound quality just SUCKS! When I turn my music up, if someone sings something that starts with S – it’s just distorted and crappy.
I am looking for a completely different sound quality from that and was pretty much wondering what everyone else’s opinion is.

I want to do something like this: http://farm1.static.flickr.com/212/464187815_526bb0c875.jpg
But no buttons, simply a plastic faceplate / enclosure that essentially is an Ipod dock.
I want to build it to fit into the "storage compartment" which is below the head unit; you can see it in this pic: http://www.ssd4u.com/Woodcorp/Chrysler/02PTCRUISERSTAINLESSANDBURLJ.JPG
nothing fancy, I just want it to look clean and well integrated, I was thinking taking clay and molding it into that space in the pic, then using it to make a form.
OR
Use Sculpey III polymer clay, but I don’t know how that will work in this application.
Obviously cars get very hot so it will need to withstand the heat

I recently purchased a brand new 4th generation ipod nano online from apple.com. I purchased it November 12th. I also got the free engraving on the back. Ever since I’ve gotten it, it will "reset" itself and the apple logo will appear and it will take about 10 seconds for it to come back on. This happens when it’s on my stereo dock and I take it off of it AND when I have it plugged into my car adapter. Recently this has gotten really bad. I did accidentally drop it one time, but the problems started to happen BEFORE I had dropped it. Although they have gotten worse since I’ve dropped it. ALSO, when I shake it to shuffle the songs, the logo will appear also. I’ve went to apple.com for support and called the numbers and followed their directions, but to no avail have I had any luck. Is there any way to talk to an actual person from apple? What do you think my next step should be?

i have a cd player and a 12vt outlet in my 2003 mustang. i can only find chargers.
So i have a 1997 concorde and i love listening to my ipod but the lighter outlet is broken, so i can’t get one of the ipod docks. I tried the cassette tape but those are too crappy. So i was wondering how much it would cost to get the cigarette lighter fixed, and how much would it be just to get a whole new stereo system for the car?

I bought a 1982 cutlass supreme from the Auto Wreckers and it runs PERFECT. Its pretty decent on gas and i have had the dents fixed, and a nice new metallic black paint job put on it. I have had 15 inch p05s put on with black rally rims. It has turned out really nice, i do have some questions though. The radio doesn’t work, and its all original interior. My Ipod adapter that you put in the lighter switch doesn’t register with the lighter switch (doesn’t even charge.) Does anyone know how to make this work without having to get a new dock ( i have a nice new dock for it, but dont have the money to have it switched at the moment.
This is MY first car that is under my name that i bought and im having the whole thing fixed up. Its plated now. Does anyone know where i can get some nice seat covers (young teenager styles)
The lighter works with the car lighter but not ipod adaptor.
Also, there is a wire on the inside of the car that doesnt attach to anything inside. If you play with it. The radio starts working.

I want a travel wall charger, not a car charger, for my iPod nano, 2nd generation but all I can find is travel chargers for generation 3 and above. I’m not looking for an expensive docking station but a "simple plug into my iPod and plug into the wall" cable. You can purchase them for a couple bucks for generation 3 and above.

I am looking for a really good portable DVD player that can last up for 6 hours(or more) and comes with a Car charger and ipod dock and other essential features. I have seen a lot of portable dvd players but they are not satisfactory because they don’t work well. I don’t care about the price as long as it is amazing and worth my money!!

I’m reading reviews on some cars and they are talking about how it has an "aux in port" but no iPod adapter. What is the difference? Won’t an "aux in port" allow you to play your iPod’s music through your car stereo too?
(Double post, I know. But it’s not getting any responses in the other catagory.)
