Can i run the audio from my macbook through the usb port?
I have the standard iPhone dock that comes in the box with the phone and I plug in my speakers to the back of the dock to play audio from the "This American Life" app. I want the audio from my macbook to go through the usb, to the dock, so that the audio from the iPhone and the macbook will run through the same headphone jack.

you can buy a USB to analouge/ optical out module but why not go for the cheaper option and buy a headphone splitter and plug that in the rear of the dock, then plug an extension lead from your headphone jack on ya macbook to the dock and the existing cable from ya dock to ya output source
