can i put an ipod touch into an ipod docking station ?
my son has bought a new ipod touch and I was wondering if it is compatible with an ipod docking station??
it is an ipod touch 3rd generation if that helps??

That would depend on the actual dock. I had a iPod Video (predecessor to the Classic) and a third-party (non-Apple) dock I used with that. When I bought my Touch and connected it to the dock, the Touch said it was not compatible.
As long as the cable fits yes, but you left out what kind of ipod you have! So I am GUESSING it’s not an ipod shuffle, therefore yes.
