Bose SoundDock series 2 and The portable are they the same loudness?
Hi i was wondering which soundDock i should get between the 2 because i want BOSE SPEAKERS one of the 2 and it mostly about the loudness so please tell me if there equal or one is louder than an other?

Answer is that they are the same loudness when plugged into the outlet.
When the Portable is on battery power, it is slightly less loud – but not much… Bose did a good job with the battery – but at $100 per battery, it better be great.
Also, if you are looking for LOUD… then Bose is a good bet. Their products do "Loud"-noise very well.
But if you are looking for LOUD+QUALITY sound – then look for another product.
If portability is not a concern, go for the Audioengine A5… they’d be much louder+ will put the Sounddock to shame when it comes to music quality and accuracy.

They cost $349 = Thick MDF[medium density fiberboard] cabinets, 50watts RMS X2, dedicated -Silk Dome tweeters with Neodynium Magnets, dedicated -Kevlar Woofers that produce bass much lower than the Sounddock. These A5′s also come with connections for your original ipod or iphone dock.
Even if you get the new Sounddock 10: $600+ is silly cost… and these A5′s are still better and louder.
I tested both Sounddock Portable and Sounddock 10 — and returned them to Bose under their 30day return policy… and was disgusted by what you get for the price.
Both Sounddocks were plenty loud… but it is the FATIGUING type of loud. The Vocals were recessed/synthetic sounding, the Trebble was WAY Overboosted, Bass was good – but monotoned "THUMPY".
Both Audioengine and Bose give 30day Trial – return policies. Don’t just take my word for it… buy all three: Sounddock 10, Sounddock Portable and Audioengine A5′s and test them side by side.
I’ll guarantee you that SOUND QUALITY/LOUDNESS, the A5′s will win.
