6-9 year lasting Home Theater System under or around $300 ($400-$450)?
i’m getting a Onkyo system (reciever, speakers, & ipod dock) for a total of 0(including 5 yr warranty(.99) and speaker stands(2 set .99). exact amount isnt definite. exact amound isn’t added right, just roughly. still with parents, room is 12X12. HDTV speakers aren’t loud enough. buying this for the future. When i move out i want a system that will last me a good 6-9 yrs of great sound for my bluray xbox, watever. tell me if there’s a cheaper alternate route. i’m set on buying this. any suggestions followed by resources will be helpful.

The system you have picked out sounds like it will be the best for the money but as for it lasting 6-9 years depends on alot of factors as well as how well it is made from the get go and how you will be using it ie; if you will be turning it up full blast for long periods of time and how long you run your speaker wire and the gauge you will be using . The wattage and ohmage of the speakers and the ambient temperature of the room it will be in Ie;proper ventilation for the receiver/amp and the amount of dust that will accumulate inside the unit over time which should be removed every 3 to 4 months. I think that with proper maintainance it could last for that amount of time.
Good luck!!!
Hope this helped.
