My speaker dock for my ipod isn't working and it was working earlier what do i do?

I got an HMDX speaker for Christmas and it was working when i used it christmas day. If you have any suggestions let me know.

Where can i buy the most basic apple brand dock for my iPhone 3g?

I just want it to look nice sitting up and charging it. I only buy from local stores. (ex: wallmart, target, best buy) What store would have one at the cheapest price? I want apple brand. No 3rd party docks unless its really nice and cheap. i DONT want a iHome. I don’t even need speakers on the dock. just somewhere i can place my iphone when im not using it and it can charge.

Here is my set up!

1 VISIO HD Plasma TV

and then a playstation, Blue-ray DVD player, and an IPod dock.

Right now I have a P.O.S. Onkyo from like 1980. I believe it can’t handle the wattage needed for this setup by a long shot.

SO!… I was looking at this Onkyo TXSR608 receiver-

HOWEVER!… the guy at best buy tells me its no good, that Yamaha and this other brand was way better.

Please help me out. I can’t really go more than around 500 bucks, but I want something nice that will last me a long time AND leave options for adding more speakers in the future.

My MAIN concern is wattage. I play these speakers to their limit and push the base the same. I need a powerhouse.

      Can I use this Ipod cable in my car?

      I have a 2010 Toyota Corolla and it has an AUX jack. Can this AUX jack go through the songs through using the controls on the radio (the guy at the dealership said you can) but from my experiences I have never seen an AUX cable that can change Ipod songs through the radio.

      I have seen cars with Male to Male AUX jacks that can only change the song through the Ipod and not the radio. Although I have looked up AUX to Ipod 30 pin connectors, I feel like this would work but I’m not sure?

        Can you charge and Ipod nano 3rd genuration away from a computer. if you can what can do that? An Ipod dock, is there a car charger I can buy?
        I wondering this becuase I just got an Ipod nano 3rd genuration and when me and my family go on trips I wanna take it with, but when it dies there will be no computer around to recharge it with.
